Dance Classes: Ballet
Laura adds an innovative approach to her ballet classes. She focuses on clean technique, core development, and musicality. Laura’s emphasis on stretching, visualization and breathing opens up the body and the senses. Her teaching style encourages a confidence in her students that allows them to move more freely through space and develop their unique individual presence. Laura’s ballet class is a great workout, builds core strength and is always fun.
Laura trained extensively in ballet with Jacqueline Schumacher, Nanette Charisse, and Finis Jhung and in jazz and modern dance with Jaime Rogers, Claude Thompson, Phil Black, Les Watanabe, Jose Meier, Nat Horne, Denise Jefferson, and Fred Benjamin at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.
Her teaching credits include the Oregon Ballet Theatre (OBT), Jefferson High School of Performing Arts, ‘Stage 7’ San Diego, Orlando Ballet New York, Bridge For Dance New York, The Dancers Workshop Portland, and more. Learn more by reading Laura’s dance bio here.
